Founded by Ben Mathews, a veteran of the lighting industry with experience spanning supply chain, product development, engineering, and design, Pure Forms was born out of a desire to rethink the everyday. After years of watching overcomplicated, disposable products flood the market, Ben set out to create something different — lighting that strips away the unnecessary and elevates what matters.
We start with a question: what does this product actually need to do — and how can we design it to do that, beautifully?
Our first release, The Desk Lamp, embodies everything we believe in. It replaces multiple devices — a task light, video light, docking station — in a single sculptural form. It’s weighted and grounded, crafted from high-quality materials, and designed to last a lifetime. Every detail, from the pivot points to the dimming range, is there for a reason. And when not in use, it folds into itself — an elegant reminder of the balance between utility and restraint.
But this is just the beginning. Whether it’s architectural lighting or everyday objects, our goal is always the same: create thoughtful, well-built products that solve problems without adding noise. We believe in timeless design, honest materials, and clear function. We believe good design earns its place in a space — and stays there.
Pure Forms is for people who care how things are made, who want fewer things but better ones, and who believe simplicity isn’t the absence of complexity — it’s the result of hard work, clarity, and intention.
